Nyemah Gillespie
| Creative Strategist | Community Builder | Arts Advocate

My Story
Nyemah Gillespie is a dynamic force at the intersection of artistry, community, and mentorship. A proud Camden, NJ native, her journey began at age three, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to movement and expression. Her early training led her to Creative Arts High School, where she majored in dance, and later to Morgan State University, where she continued to refine her craft as a leader in the Magnificent Marching Machine’s Foxxy Ladies and the Modern Dance Ensemble.
Her passion has taken her across the globe, from the stages of Philadelphia and Atlanta to a transformative cultural exchange in Ghana, West Africa. Along the way, she has graced stages alongside respected artists and visionaries, earning recognition such as the Coca-Cola Scholarship for Best Performance in Dance and awards for her dedication to the arts and her community.
For over a decade, Nyemah was the proud owner and director of Dare 2 Dance, LLC, a studio built on the mission to “Raise Great Dancers & Even Greater Human Beings.” More than just a dance program, Dare 2 Dance was a pillar in the community, spearheading initiatives like Back-to-School giveaways, Coat Drives, Hygiene Tours for high schools, Community Clean-ups, Trunk or Treats, Toy Giveaways, and Young Women’s Mentorship Programs. She later expanded the studio to include gymnastics, reinforcing values of strength, confidence, and sportsmanship.
Now, as she transitions into Creative Connextions, Nyemah is taking her vision even further—bridging the gap between artists, youth, businesses, and community leaders through arts education, mentorship, and consulting. With Creative Connextions Studio, she continues to cultivate young talent, while Creative Connextions Collective serves as a hub for professional development, corporate training, and arts integration.
Beyond the arts, Nyemah has been a dedicated advocate for parents, students, and education reform. She has served in leadership roles within Camden’s education system, including as a Parent Advisory Council member and a former School Board Member, using her voice to champion parent engagement, student success, the arts, and youth empowerment.
Her impact has been recognized through accolades such as the Women of Purpose Award, Outstanding Woman in the Arts Award, and the Angel Award from Starlet Rose Creation, among others.
Nyemah is more than a dancer—she is a philanthropist, mentor, and change agent. Whether she’s leading a workshop, curating community events, or inspiring the next generation, her mission remains the same:
“Be the Change, Not the Chatter.”
